Manager Profile Ron Stader recognizes that a critical
component in his work as Broker and General Manager of CIR Realtors is to act as a
catalyst on initiative. “In a company like CIR….I
feel I’m fortunate to be able to initiate different strategies, programs and
directions,” says Ron, “There’s a hands on management style here, with a
small nucleus. We don’t have any bureaucracy. I like being able to listen to other
people’s ideas and then implement them quickly, with a minimum of fuss.” Ron’s open door policy with the
Realtors who work in the CIR. offices allows a creative exchange of ideas. For
individuals brand new to the business, Ron will instigate a look at the big picture. Broad
goals are then set and the details get coloured in as the weeks progress. For those who
want to move along more quickly, the opportunity to deal in specifics within a shorter
time period is always available. The Realtors in the company
appreciate Ron’s down to earth approach to management. Comments like “always
makes himself available”, “very fair – he listens to both sides” and
“a very fair and honest manager” are accurate assessments of his ability to
listen to the individuals with whom he has daily contact. Managing independent entrepreneurs is
never an easy task. There is a fine line between Realtor as client and Realtor as employee
that can be as daunting as riding a high powered motorcycle down a loosely
gravelled road. Ron has faced the challenge of gravel
road riding many times since his initiation into the world of motorcycles at the age of
thirteen. His “thin black line in ‘99” tour led him down the roads less
travelled as he cruised through B.C. and a variety of American states. Ron’s ability to participate in
a little “scenic meandering” leaves him open to listening to good ideas and
knowing when to act upon the opportunities presented to him in his role with CIR.
